Mulberry Grove

The community dates to a settlement of 1826. An early figure, Zopher Foster, was a participant in the Black Hawk War which brings the link to frontier clashes with the native inhabitants during the early period of the National Road. Nearby is Hurricane Creek which was used in the springtime to float flatboats to the Kaskaskia River and then to St. Louis.
